Cooperation between Beroni and Columbia University on ArboViroPlex rRT-PCR Test Research Program

  Mr. Zhang Boqing, Chairman of Beroni Group, Mr. Li Linfeng, President of North America Operation Center of Beroni Group, Mr. Jia Zhenghu, Vice President of Beroni International R&D Center for Precision Medicine were invited to visit the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University and held friendly talks with Dr. Linda P. Fried , Dean of the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University and Senior Vice President of Columbia University Medical Center, Walter Ian Lipkin, Professor of the Mailman School of Public Health on global health issues, virus detection in precision medicine, and immunology. Beroni Group entered into an agreement with the Columbia University, to provide US$1 million funding to a 12-month research program in the field of ArboViroPlex rRT-PCR Test under the direction of Professor Walter Ian Lipkin.

  During the discussion, Mr. Jia Zhenghu shared the new methods and ideas of the Beroni Group's projects of gene sequencing and development of molecular detection in the field of precision medicine, which was acknowledged by the experts and scholars of Columbia University. They also communicated in depth on capacity building and management of specific virus screening, disease prevention and comprehensive treatment in precision medicine.

Representatives of the two parties made a discussion

  Beroni Group and Columbia University reached consensus on a series of cooperative projects such as technical communication, personnel training and exchange, high-tech project construction and management, and technical and personnel support. The signing of research funding agreement has established a bridge between the two parties for technical communication and talent exchanges, which will accelerate the development of scientific research and industrialization in the field of immunology and virus research etc.

  Linda P. Fried, Dean of the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University, Senior Vice President of Columbia University Medical Center is a public health leader in the fields of epidemiology and geriatrics. In 2012, Fried was profiled by The New York Times as one of 15 world leaders in science. She has dedicated her career to the science of healthy aging, and was named by the U.S. Congress as a "Living Legend in Medicine".

  Walter Ian Lipkin, MD, Professor of Epidemiology , Neurology and Pathology, Director of Center for Infection and Immunity, is internationally recognized as an authority on the use of molecular methods for pathogen discovery. He won the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award in 2015, and he also was dubbed the “World’s Most Celebrated Virus Hunter” by Discover.
